Perfect Christmas

Our Christmas song is finished! It can be downloaded from our downloads page here

The class have written the lyrics, chosen the chords, made up the tune – and sung fantastically as well!

We hope you enjoy it!

The Christmas Tree

We have finished the Christmas tree! To make the tree we painted cardboard cut-out branches and covered a plastic pipe with brown paper which we secured in a bucket. We then made some decoration shapes and put a phonic sound on each decoration. On the back of each decoration we put a qr code.

The idea behind this is that class can take a phonic sound decoration from the tree and scan the qr code using a qr reader on the computer. When they scan the sound it will take them to the matching page on the ‘Mr Thorne Does Phonics’ site and they can then watch a video of the sound. We also added some other decorations to the tree – this time containing pictures of their favourite websites and the qr code to take them to that site. We’ve made an Animoto of our tree here:

We have been making a big Christmas tree for the class this week. We have now made a decorated bucket by using purplemash. We wrapped the bucket in shiny paper then worked in groups to make decorations for each side using a star poem template. The groups thought of different words for Christmas then typed them before adding clipart and drawings. We’ll continue assembling the tree this week – watch this space!
